Chat and models
Talk with Ecila or another AI, attach files and photos, dictate by voice, and organize your chats.
Chat is where everything starts. Each chat keeps its history, syncs across your devices, and can use whichever model you choose.
Ask a question
- Tap New chat.
- Type in the Ask anything field and send it with the arrow button (on a computer, Enter works too).
- Below each answer are buttons to copy, rate, edit, and regenerate.
Choose the model
The model in use appears in the corner of the message field. Tap it to switch:
- Cortex: our own models, already included in your plan. Ecila is the chat assistant; Airam is the coding one.
- Your subscriptions (on computers): Claude, ChatGPT/Codex, Gemini, and others you connect. See Your subscriptions and keys.
- Local AI and My PC's AI: models that run on your computer. See Local AI.

Attach files and photos
- Tap the + next to the field.
- Choose a photo, a document, a spreadsheet, or another file.
- Write what you want the AI to do with it and send.
The AI reads images, PDFs, spreadsheets, and documents. Everything that goes in and out of the chat is saved in the Library.
Talk instead of typing
Tap the microphone and speak. On phones, the text appears in the field as you dictate, with punctuation, so you can check it before sending. When you stop, the final text is ready in the field.
Chat tools
Below the field are the settings for this chat: the skills and connections that are on (web search, memory, documents, and more) and the reasoning mode. To turn skills on or off for good, use Customize.
Organize your chats
- Your chats are in the side list, split into Team, Code, and Chat.
- Use the search at the top of the list to find an old chat.
- From each chat's … menu you can rename, pin, archive, share, or delete it.
- Notices from Cortex agents arrive as a chat; your reply stays in that same chat, on any device.
