Team and shared chats

The same AI chat for the whole team — invite up to 3 people to one of your chats or create a team space with channels, tasks, and an AI that learns from you.

Available on: Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, macOS, Linux, and WebTeam space on Cortex MaxUpdated in version 6.75.338

No more copying and pasting what the AI said. In Cortex, people follow the same AI chat live and send requests into a queue.

Shared chat (any plan)

  1. Open one of your chats or Code projects.
  2. Tap the chat's … menu and choose Add people.
  3. Pick up to 3 people — from your team or outside it, by email.
  4. They get the invite and can see the whole history.
Shared chat with requests from two people and the AI answering each one
A shared chat is the usual chat, with more people taking part

How it works:

  • A shared chat is just like the usual chat: same bubbles, model choice, tools, attachments, and dictation.
  • Each message shows who sent it, with photo and name. You can see who's typing and who has read it.
  • Requests go into a queue and the AI answers them one at a time, in order.
  • Each request uses the limit of the person who asked.

Team space (Cortex Max)

With the Cortex Max plan, the Team button appears in the rail and opens a full space for your team:

  • Channels and direct messages with mentions, reactions, attachments, photos, and read receipts (✓ sent, ✓✓ delivered, blue ✓✓ read).
  • Team AI: ask in the channel. If it doesn't know, it asks whoever decides, passes the answer back, and saves it in the team's memory.
  • Tasks: write "@name take care of this" and the message becomes a task with an owner.
  • Roles: owner, administrator, and member, with invites by email or link.
  • The team pays: the owner can let requests use the team's plan, with a cap per person.

Two requests, one queue: each answer goes to whoever asked

Create the team and invite people

  1. Tap Team in the rail.
  2. Tap Create team and give it a name.
  3. Tap Invite and send the invite by email or copy the link.
  4. To bring one of your chats into the team, open its … menu and tap Share with the team. The app asks who with: the whole team, just a few people, or up to 4 people.

Manage chats and people

  • Right-click on a computer, or long-press on a phone, on a Team chat: Rename, Pin, Mute, Archive, Remove from team, Delete, and see who's in it.
  • In People you can add, remove, or replace someone in a single step, or hand the chat over to someone else. Whoever leaves loses access right away; the history stays.
  • On a computer, tapping the chat name opens its details on the side, like in WhatsApp.
